Which brokerage firm has the best training program? I currently hold Series 7, 63, and 65 as well as Life/Health Insurance professional licenses, but I work for a small independent firm with limited training. I will be finishing my undergraduate degree soon and think it would be a good idea to transfer to one of the big brokerage houses with proven training programs. I heard that Merrill Lynch has the best training for new brokers, but I was wondering if anyone knows if any of the other large firms have better programs. Thanks in advance for you help.

I work at a brokerage firm and Im lost about the rules they use? I work at a brokerage firm that sponsor me to take the series 7, I passed my exam, and now I have to learn the pitch, I'm getting pay for the first 3 months of training, but I'm not on a payroll, I'm getting pay cash.I've been working for one week and I haven't sign any contracts with the firm after a I got my series 7 . Sometimes I get homework to do ( homework as I have to type my pitch over and if i leave anything out. Im not getting pay for the day.) and if i dont do it, I dont get pay. for the reason that im only supposed to get pay if im not on the phone. But the pitch is a little complicated because its in spanish, I speak spanish but not on the daily basis and they know that. and that makes it hard for me to learn the pitch in one day. any suggestion because I feel like im getting taken advantage off. because and Im not familiar with the rules in this job

Is it legal for a brokerage firm to list theirselves as the owner of your account and the beneficiary? Invested some money with a local brokerage company and when I moved it I found out I have no access to it because they listed themselves as the custodian of my money and they also listed theirselves as the benificery I am tiring to get this straightened out I by know means knew they did this. Yes I am sure I signed something but the guy was filling it out for me in his office you would think a big name brockerage would not send a nut to fill out your paperwork like this. I think it is a scam They also out sourced the managemet of my account to another firm that was charging me like $700 a year to manage it. I have already fired them. Anybody ever heard of anything like this. One more thing I think they were sellng and buying stock at will to keep collecting sales fees.
Which brokerage firm is best for a new trader? I would prefer an online one like: Scottrade, E*Trade, TD Ameritrade, etc. Which one do you use? Is it easy to use? Are they helpful? What's good and bad about it? What do they charge for fees/commissions? I would be using the firm to trade stocks and to buy bonds or CDs. Or should I use a company that has physical locations like Charles Schwab? Please do not answer if you do not use something like this. Thanks.

How Do I Open My Own Online Brokerage Firm? i know alot about the brokerage industry, but i'd like to know who i can go to in order to support and build an online trading platform for stock and bond transactions over the internet. i've seen a few sites that offer $5.00 stock trades and i'm sure they must be using an interface set up through another host company. but who is that host company? it's got to be a company that does the clearing, margining, and cashiering i believe. the host company would be responsible for the major issues like insurance, backoffice, etc the few online brokers out there today like Schwab, E*trade and TD Ameritrade are all independent and spent millions of dollars building their platform and have backoffices as well. but is there a 'plug n' play' solution for a small broker/dealer operation available?? and as trade prices go down, what is going to keep the business from becoming a 'loss leader'? margin rates? options trades? mutual fund fee kickbacks? advertising on every confirmation ticket/email
