How do I transfer my stocks from one brokerage firm to another?
My brokerage sucks money. They sell off my stock every six months to pay their fees. I want to go to a less expensive firm but don't know how to do that. Does it cost money for me to transfer them to another brokerage? Can anyone recommend and inexpensive brokerage? I have a very limited amount of stock but don't want to sell them now. Thank You!

- It is very easy to transfer your account. Let's take an example. Scottrade charges $7 a transaction. So to transfer your account to Scottrade go to their on line site and print off the form to transfer the account. Fill it out, mail it to Scottrade and wa-la they will do all the work for you. Your existing broker will probably charge you a fee for the transfer, should be about $35. If you as Scottrade nicely before you do the transfer if they will reinburse you for the transfer fee, I bet they will say yes. http://www.scottrade.com/
